Department of Fish and Wildlife Youth Fishing/Education
Fishing Licenses…Kids who are 14 and younger don’t need a fishing license to fish in the state of Washington. Teens 15 years of age are required to buy a youth fishing license, which allows them to fish in both fresh and saltwater. For more information, please see the License Types and Fees chart.
No license is required for anyone on Free Fishing Weekend, which is the first weekend in June following the first Monday.

Free Fishing Weekend in Washington is always the first weekend after the first Monday in June. No license is required that weekend for 15 year old up.
Christmas Party 2019 (see pictures below…taken early in the evening before most of the people showed up—we had lots of new families and lots of kids this year!)
Thank you for your gifts of non-perishable food items and a great party. We had over 125 people in and out at the party this year. People began arriving at 5:30 ready for Santa. Santa’s fire truck was all decked out for Christmas. Fire Crew/Fire District #6 picked up the donated food items, gift card and money at our Annual Christmas party to make up Christmas baskets for the less fortunate families in our area. Your gifts were greatly appreciated.

2019 SWL Kid’s Easter Egg Hunt – at the Ballfield…here are some of our early arrivals (rain or shine and thankfully the rain stopped and held off until we were all done.) Thank you for all who helped put out the eggs in the pouring rain. Your help was greatly appreciated.

A BIG THANK YOU to Nathanael Cheney and his helpers for the restoration, laying of bark and marking of the two trails (one at the end of Tern and Siskin and another at the end of Auklet and Egret). This was part of his completion of his Eagle Scout award for Boy Scouts of America. Thank you again…we really appreciate all of your hard work.
